We are glad to share the growth of Orthodox Christian life on Curaçao around the community of Saint Anna, near St Anna Bay in Willemstad.
In Orthodox tradition, Saint Anna is the mother of the Mother of God, Mary, and the grandmother of Jesus Christ. Together with Saint Joachim, she lived in prayer and trust in God. Her life recalls patience, faithfulness, maternal care and perseverance.
The name St Anna Bay has been connected with Willemstad for centuries. For our community, the history of this place and the memory of Saint Anna have a special connection.
