Contact, chat and your data
Who handles your message?
Orthodox Curaçao handles correspondence through Info@OrthodoxCuracao.com. Choose administration and general questions with Jozef, community contacts and services with Macarius, or Papiamentu with Alisha. Administration messages are restricted from other staff. Other messages are available only to authorised staff.
What do we collect?
Contact details, your message and chosen recipient are used to respond and follow up. Introductions and prayer requests may include religious information, for which we request explicit consent. Share as little as necessary; do not send medical records, identity documents or confidential details about others. Permission to publish a review or photo is separate from handling your request.
Storage and email
Contact and introduction messages are encrypted in the local website archive. Chat content is encrypted. New email notifications contain only a prompt to sign in, without message contents. Prayer requests and older requests use restricted WordPress storage; server, disk and backup encryption require separate confirmation from the host. New visitor photos are encrypted before approval.
Retention and review
Contact and introduction messages are retained for up to 12 months by default, or up to 36 months only if you select the separate extended-retention option. The chat displays its configured retention period when starting. New private requests, unpublished media submissions and unpublished reviews are reviewed for cleanup after 90 days and moved to recoverable Trash. Published contributions remain while publication is permitted. Trash, mailboxes, original uploads and backups require separate attention when handling an erasure request.
Spam protection and external services
The website uses a local arithmetic check, security tokens, a hidden spam field and rate limits. This check sends no form data to a CAPTCHA provider. A short-lived network code hashed with a secret key is used to limit abuse. Hosting and security logs may still process technical data. If you open Google Maps, social media or another external link, that service’s terms and privacy information also apply. Functional cookies and local storage may be needed for sign-in, language choice and a chat session. Consent to additional statistics is separate from sending a message. External maps and videos load only after your choice.
Your rights and privacy questions
Email Info@OrthodoxCuracao.com to request access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection or withdrawal of consent. Choose Administration as the recipient. We request only what is needed to verify your identity and request. Withdrawal affects future processing and does not invalidate earlier lawful processing. You may also complain to the competent privacy supervisory authority.
